Installation - Blooming from the dust
Photographic installation - Murmur (2018)
This is the first time I have thought that the common language is the beginning of misunderstanding. We will quarrel with people and feel that the other party cannot understand our own thoughts because we have a common language.
Everyone is talking, but no one is listening, even though they are using the same language. This is a Frustration of a language ! It seems that I am a monster who mutters in the wilderness.
Chiang Hsun
The elements within the images evoke the concept that sometime I consider myself as a fish, and my words are lost in the bubbles. Everyone is talking in the world but it seems like no one is listening, and it lead us look like a monster who mutters in the wild. Therefore, I would rather reply on the nature by communicating with the tree and share the air from the fish to some degree. Similarly, staying inside the bubble is a excuse for me to escape from this world. Apart from getting inspired from the book Chiang Hsun. The idea of private experience with the reference of Wittgenstein's view. He stressed that feeling is a private experience and private experience is not to say that everyone has his own sample, but that no one knows what others have, or anything else. In other words, bubble represents my own private zone in which the experience between each individual is not known and can only be known to oneself.
I created the representations of pluricellar-like structures by using my blood, epoxy polymer, water colour, powder from pastel colour, based of my response and observation to the plants which are grown with my tears under microscope. It is also strengthen the personal elements and present the idea that ‘we are all liquids in this ‘liquid modernity’.
